Job Summary

The Senior Buyer / Project Lead is responsible for managing purchasing activities, negotiating contracts, to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of materials and services.

Position Type

Full-Time Exempt. 40 hours per week / Monday – Friday. This position is often required to work a variety of schedules; day and evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to support business goals and objectives
  • Analysis of commodities and suppliers to identify opportunities and deploy appropriate strategic plans
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to establish strong partnerships and strategic business agreements
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, and pricing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand business initiatives and Procurement’s role in success of each initiative to meet business goals and objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to drive strategic decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.

Travel

Occasional (10-25%) travel is expected of this position; to visit key vendors/suppliers, trade shows or conferences, site visits.  Travel is mainly domestic, with potential for international travel.

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or related field.
  • Experience with supply chain concepts and methodologies preferably in the manufacturing and heavy industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably MS Business Central.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Teams.
  • Bi-lingual in German and/or Spanish is a plus.
