Q. How long will it take for the Universal Mounting Paste to dry?
A. Drying time will vary due to any combination of the following factors: ambient temperature, humidity, location of the product (near a fan or heater for instance), airflow across the open pail.
Q. What can I do to prolong the usefulness of the Universal Mounting Paste that remains in the pail?
A. Cover the top of open pails at the end of each day, preferably with the pail lid, to minimize evaporation.
Q. If the Universal Mounting Paste becomes hard and/or dries up in the pail, what do I do?
A. Typically, only the surface of the Mounting Paste will harden or “crust over” due to drying. We find that the best solution for this problem is to clean the paste brush as detailed below. Then immerse the clean paste brush in hot water. Sprinkle the hot water from the brush onto the surface of the Mounting Paste. (Some people do this step up to 4 or 5 times, with no adverse effect on the paste.) Using the paste brush, mix the surface water into the surface of the dried Mounting Paste by brushing vigorously across the entire surface.
Q. How do I remove dried Mounting Paste from the paste brush bristles?
A. Submerge the paste brush into a container filled with enough clean, hot water to totally immerse the bristles of the brush. Allow to soak for approximately 1minute. Carefully work the bristles of the brush across the bottom of the container of hot water to remove the hardened paste from the brush. (This is similar to the procedure often used for cleaning a paint brush.) Repeat as necessary.
Q. How do I remove dried Mounting Paste from the tire changer surface?
A. Dampen a clean rag with clean, warm water and wipe the area in question. If there is a build-up of dried mounting paste on the surface use a nylon bristle brush to assist in the removal along with the dampened rag. Upon completion, wipe with a dry rag.
